Amazon Plan of Action (POA) Template
A free, copy-ready Plan of Action for Amazon suspensions and listing removals — with the three parts Seller Performance looks for and a worked example.
An Amazon Plan of Action (POA) is a short, factual letter that explains why a problem happened, what you have already fixed, and what you changed so it does not happen again. Seller Performance reads many appeals a day, so a clear one-page plan that answers those three questions works better than a long apology.

Subject: Plan of Action – [ACCOUNT DEACTIVATION / LISTING REMOVAL] – [MERCHANT TOKEN] Dear Seller Performance Team, Thank you for the opportunity to address the [POLICY / ISSUE] notice dated [DATE] about ASIN(s) [ASIN LIST]. We have investigated and taken the following steps. 1. Root cause of the issue • [WHICH PROCESS FAILED — e.g. we bought ASIN [ASIN] from [SUPPLIER NAME] without confirming they were an authorized distributor.] • [A SECOND CAUSE, IF THE NOTICE NAMES MORE THAN ONE ISSUE] 2. Actions we have taken to resolve the issue • On [DATE] we [removed the offer / created a removal order for all [QTY] remaining units] for ASIN [ASIN]. • On [DATE] we [reviewed every active listing against our invoices / contacted the brand owner]. • Attached: invoice [INVOICE NUMBER] from [SUPPLIER NAME] covering [QTY] units of ASIN [ASIN]. 3. Steps we have taken to prevent this issue in the future • Before listing any branded product, [ROLE] verifies the supplier's authorization with the brand owner and keeps the confirmation on file. • Every [MONTH / QUARTER], [ROLE] checks that each active ASIN has an invoice from the last 365 days that covers our sales. • [ANY OTHER PROCESS CHANGE, WITH WHO DOES IT AND HOW OFTEN] We respectfully request that you review our plan and reinstate our [ACCOUNT / LISTING]. [YOUR NAME], [ROLE] [STORE NAME] · [MERCHANT TOKEN]
The three parts, explained
1. Root cause. Name the process that failed, not the symptom. “Our order defect rate was over 1%” is a symptom; “we shipped from a warehouse with no packaging check” is a root cause. If the notice names several issues, give each its own cause.
2. Corrective actions. List steps you have already completed, with dates: listings removed, inventory pulled, buyers refunded, documents gathered. Promises about the future belong in part 3.
3. Preventive measures. Describe the new process: who checks what, how often, and with which document or tool. Specific, repeatable steps are more convincing than general statements.
Common mistakes that get appeals rejected
• Writing a long letter about your brand instead of a factual plan.
• Blaming Amazon, buyers or competitors.
• Leaving out an ASIN that the notice names.
• Submitting edited, back-dated or made-up documents — only send genuine, unedited invoices.
• Mentioning another seller account.
• Sending a second appeal while the first is still under review.
Example: inauthentic complaint
Root cause: “We bought ASIN [ASIN] from a reseller we had not verified as an authorized distributor, and our listing process had no step to check supplier authorization.”
Corrective action: “On [DATE] we removed the offer and created a removal order for all [QTY] remaining units.”
Preventive measure: “Before listing any brand, [ROLE] confirms with the brand owner that the supplier is an authorized distributor and keeps the confirmation on file.”
Draft your Plan of Action with AI
NuroHunt AI's Risk & Recovery Shield reads your Amazon, eBay or Etsy notice, finds the root cause, and drafts a 3-part Plan of Action. It never invents facts: anything it does not know becomes a [PLACEHOLDER] for you to fill in. It also checks which affected ASINs your saved invoices cover. Drafts only — you review and submit. Not legal advice.

What is an Amazon Plan of Action?
A Plan of Action (POA) is the appeal you send to Amazon Seller Performance after a suspension, deactivation or listing removal. It explains the root cause, the corrective actions you have already taken, and the preventive measures that stop the problem from happening again.
How long should a Plan of Action be?
Usually about one page. Keep to the facts that caused the issue, one root cause per issue, dated actions, and specific preventive steps.
Can I use the same Plan of Action for every suspension?
No. Amazon expects the plan to address the exact issue and ASINs in your notice. Use the template as a structure and fill it with your own facts.
Does a good Plan of Action guarantee reinstatement?
No. Amazon decides every case. A clear, honest and specific plan with genuine documents gives you the best chance. For counterfeit, safety, related-account or Section 3 cases, consider a specialist.
